Electronic Requests (E-Requests)

Terms to Know:

• Requisitions: List of items or stock requested for the Requesting facility.
• Requesting Facility: The facility that submits item requisitions to fulfilling facilities in OpenBoxes. These can be non-depot locations (Wards, Pharmacies, Dispensaries) or other Depot locations.
• Fulfilling Facility: The facility that fulfills the requisition requests from Requesting facility. These are inventory Depots in OpenBoxes.
• Approvals: Some Requesting and Fulfilling facility require that Requisitions are approved by a budget manager or the department manager before they are submitted to the Requesting facility. In such cases, Approvals can be turned ON.

What is E-Request?

The Electronic Request (E-Request) feature in OpenBoxes allows Requesting Facilities to submit Requisitions electronically through OpenBoxes, instead of paper. Through E-Request, both the Requesting and Fulfilling facilities can track the requisitions all the way from creation to shipment.

OpenBoxes also has an Approval feature that can be configured if the facilities require that the E-Request be approved by Requesting facility managers before the Fulfilling Warehouse fulfills the request.
